Ray could feel Delanie’s angry gaze burning into his back as he walked away, leaving her seething over his words. Now she knew how it felt to be dismissed. It had probably been a first for her.
To be honest, he was surprised she hadn’t pounced on him. By the expression on her lovely face, she’d definitely wanted to draw blood. So fiery, Ray thought, laughing to himself.
Apparently, it had dawned on Delanie that she needed him far more than he needed her. Actually, that statement wasn’t 100 percent accurate. For a brief moment, he’d needed to kiss her. Especially when she’d glided the tip of her tongue over that suckable bottom lip of hers.
