Even without the dazed look on his face, Macie knew she’d taken Trent completely by surprise. But he wasn’t the only stunned one. One minute the words had been bouncing around in her head, the next they were escaping past her lips.
Trent stared at her as if he was trying to figure out if he’d actually heard what he’d thought he’d heard. His confusion was warranted. She’d never been impulsive. Yet, here she was, issuing him one hell of a risky challenge. If he accepted it, great. If not, she would feel like one helluva fool.
Well, she’d come this far. No use in backing down now. When another wave of confidence washed over her, she moved so close to Trent that her breasts pressed into his chest. Her nipples hardened even more, causing a painful ache only the warm suckle of his soft lips could relieve. Cradling his face between her trembling hands, she brought his mouth to hers and brushed his lips with a light kiss. The resulting spark ignited her entire body.
Staring into his eyes, she said, “Should I walk away?”
